Honesty, I didn't realize that the book I was gifted by one of my very favorite authors wasn't the one Amazon had me download until I was ready to write this review. It's with a smile on my face that I'm able to thank Amazon for sending me the wrong book by an author I had not read before because Tammy Doherty is now one of my favorite mystery authors!As a writer of Christian books with a Messianic twist and a hint of history, I loved that "She's Mine" shines forth as a beacon of light in an ever-increasing dark world! A multilayered read the story resonated with my heart as well as my head as the tension built because of an unexpected triangle of fear by one man masquerading as love, and the eventual sacrificial love of another man was revealed.
Those who enjoy Agatha Christie's books and like a great mystery, I recommend this book and author. For those, like me, who like to see biblical life lessons being shown in a way that doesn't feel preachy, teachy this book is a MUST Read!

Exciting, disturbing, mysterious with a romance in the making. A well written, enjoyable book. Clean, no sex. There is some violence but only because a male is crazy and hits & shoots & tries to kill another male with traps setup in an very old house.
--- I do not write everything about a book I have read - If I did, why would anyone need to read the book - sorry, folks, but too many reviews tell me so much about a book that I do not see why I need to read it - not after I have just been told what it is all about. ---
Really enjoyed this one after I got into it, but I did figure out who the villain was although not how he pulled it off. I thought it would be a case of suspecting the wrong person. Surprise. Sean makes a great hero. Caitlin's parents didn't have a good marriage, and she doesn't want a man like her father, so this interferes with her developing relationships with men. That is, until she meets Sean. There are times she thinks he's just like her dad and times she realizes he's not. She's being stalked though she's moved from one place to another. When she visits relatives in another state, the stalker shows up there as well. Sean is determined to protect her at the risk of his own life. First, he loses his pickup over it. Will his life be next? The stalker wants him dead and out of the picture. The characters are well developed. I enjoyed the setting as well. Vivid description of nature, the area, and life-threatening events. I couldn't wait to finish reading it to see what happened once I got into the story. Check this one out. I'm glad I did. Caitlin relies on prayer to see her through and in the end, her best friend begins to rely on it, too. A wonderful Christian romance with mystery and suspense to make it more interesting.
After reading Celtic Cross (FREE as of the date of this post) by Tammy Doherty, I couldn't wait to dive into She's Mine. Settling back with a book by Tammy Doherty is a lot like chatting with a dear friend over coffee. )
Such three dimensional characters with emotional and physical scars! Caitlin Harrington. Math lover, teacher, taking up residence in her beloved Grandmother's house back in Naultag. She learned from her mother's promiscuous relationships and avoids egotistical, controlling men. Most men, actually, except a couple friends from her past.
Mom driving away, leaving me behind as if I was nothing more than a piece of furniture. Except Mom came back for the furniture.
Hero Sean Taggart, firefighter and campground owner. Recovering from physical injuries sustained during the story, he battles depression, insecurity and even jealousy.
Caitlin was like a late-night fire--you saw the flames but the full extent was hard to judge and there was a high risk of getting burned.
I really appreciated the genuineness of the characters. Both struggled with failures and asked some tough questions, which made the faith thread flow naturally. The pages were filled with flirty, witty dialog, with a bit of sarcasm thrown in occasionally. Awesome descriptions transported me into the New England area of Naultag. More than one person wasn't happy that Caitlin returned to Naultag. I had an inkling about creepy Adam but never would've guessed the actual scenario that played out, a palm-slicker for sure. Be sure to grab your copy of She's Mine, a perfect book to laze away a rainy weekend afternoon!

This is a clean, Christian romance. The story is about a woman [Caitlyn), who inherits her grandmother's house where she grew up. She moves back after being gone twelve years. Just before she moves back a man she had known casually becomes fixated on her. Sean is a volunteer fire fighter among other things. He helps his aunt, uncle and cousin with farming across the street. That's how they first meet. Someone isn't happy about Caitlyn moving back into the area and Sean's natural protective instincts kick in.
There are a lot of positives and negatives in this book but the positives are a clear winner. The negatives include poor editing, miss trust, petty jealousy, secretive behavior, miscommunication or non communication (especially annoying once they are declared "in love"). The mystery was well done. The bad guy was a complete surprise even though all the clues were there. The storyline kept my interest throughout. Characters were clearly drawn with distinct personalities. Flawed Christians were depicted in a realistic way without preaching at the reader. I'm glad I read it but won't make it into my reread collection.
